Born and raised in Texas, I have a fondness for wide open spaces and slower paces. I grew up in the suburbs of Dallas/Fort Worth but with family in rural areas, I was blessed to have the best of both worlds. Years of school, work, travel, self-discovery and growth planted the seeds for the blessed life I live today. My family and I live in the foothills of North Central Texas where we have room to play, grow and appreciate all of the beautiful gifts that Mother Nature has to offer. I love learning new things, re-purposing old things and reinventing myself whenever I can. Gardening, exploring, cooking, reading and hiking are my favorite methods of relaxation and restoration.
For the past 25 years, I have enjoyed working with diverse populations in a variety of settings to achieve one common goal;improving health and wellbeing. As a college student I felt led to begin my work in pre-medical studies with the intention of becoming a doctor of infectious disease. However, after completing an HIV/AIDS medical delegation program in South Africa, I found that my interest was more rooted in preventing disease and illness through outreach and education rather than treating it with medical intervention.
Nearly 10 years ago I embarked upon a new adventure in the world of health and wellness when I created my own corporate wellness company, Working Well, LLC. This business has provided me with the opportunity to apply my skills as an accomplished nutritionist with my expansive public health and community outreach experience to help others create positive health outcomes.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to hear from you soon!
Be well,
Leslie
